In September 2011, a select group of design, lifestyle and travel bloggers were invited to London to participate in a pioneering concept: the idea was to create design tours powered by the social media influence of bloggers. This breakthrough concept was developed and executed to complete perfection by two extraordinary individuals, Veronika Miller and Tim Bogan of Modenus. The concept? BlogTour. The World Designed. Well, it’s world famous now and certainly doesn’t need an introduction, but you can learn more about the maiden voyage here. As a member of the the original team of BlogTour bloggers that traveled to London for the London Design Festival, I’m greatly honored and proud to see Veronika and Tim expand BlogTour into an international endeavor with scheduled tours in New York City (to coincide with the Architectural Digest Home Design Show – March 22-24, 2012), Italy and France.
BlogTour London 2011, was also so much more than just exquisite design, amazing venues and incredible events. It was seven days of rekindling old friendships, and establishing new friendships. We traveled together, we ate together and we had so much fun together (oh, how much we laughed) as we discovered London and all the beautiful design it had to offer. Old bonds were strengthen and new bonds were created – I felt that we operated as a family of very enthusiastic design lovers.
Over the next few days we will be introducing six former BlogTour design ambassadors and the images that captured their hearts and souls during that one amazing week in London last fall. I hope you love each of these inspirational posts as much as I do. We’ve recently shared the beautiful and inspirational images captured by design bloggers, Susan Serra,Tamara Matthews-Stephenson, and Stacey Bewkes. Today, we will be sharing inspiring images captured by the exquisitely talented and multi-award-winning interior designer, Andie Day.
London Design Week
Inspiration Look Book
We were pleasantly overwhelmed with the number of photos each BlogTour alumnus submitted – such a very talented group with a very keen eye toward design. We could only choose a few of the gorgeous images for the look books/inspiration boards. But we didn’t want the rest of those beautiful images to be left on the ‘editing room’ floor…so we created an interactive slideshow (replete with product details) for your enjoyment.[gpslideshow thumbs=on]
