Carmen Natschke

Carmen Natschke (pronounced like “latch key” with an “n”) is the founder and editor of The Decorating Diva, LLC (The Decorating Diva.com). She is the recipient of the coveted Gifts and Decorative Accessories Retailer Excellence Award in Visual Merchandising for her outstanding retail design and merchandising skills. Her highly anticipated annual design and trend forecasts have been sought out by decorating divas, industry giants and the media. Carmen has been featured as a home décor expert in such publications as the Minneapolis Parade of Homes, MSN.com, Woman’s World, Reuters, Associated Press, Hilton Head Monthly, Atlanta Woman, and Seattle Times.

Prior to founding The Decorating Diva.com in 2003, Carmen co-founded an award winning home décor retail venture (Room In A Kit LLC—2000) and a decorating and creative workshop enterprise (Decorating Divas LLC Training Center—2002) – which became the inspiration for The Decorating Diva.com.

In her former professional life, Carmen was a successful software engineer and project manager in the aerospace and defense industry. She has a Master of Science degree in Engineering Management and a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology. Carmen’s diverse professional experience in both the scientific and artistic industries has given her a unique insight that is instrumental in the creation of The Decorating Diva.com’s much anticipated home décor, furnishings and color trend reports.

Her experience encompasses several disciplines including interior decorating,ergonomic office design, visual merchandising, business management, software engineering, web and e-commerce design, online publishing, human factors, teaching, public speaking and project management. Carmen is fluent in Spanish, has lived in Spain, the United States and Germany. She currently divides her time between her homes in coastal east central Florida, Tampa and Miami.
