Decorating Cents on the Chopping Block

One of our very favorite decorating on a budget television shows may be getting the ax. According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune the Home and Garden Television company has placed “Decorating Cents” on hiatus for now.

“Decorating Cents” has been one of HGTV’s best design shows over that last few years however the show’s ratings have been down recently compared to other years so that may be the reason that it may be headed to the cancellation bin. Which would be an absolute shame because the show’s host Joan Steffend does provide viewers with great ideas for decorating on a tight budget and best of all are her end of show segments which illustrate the magic of using your imagination to transform trash to treasure.

The Star Tribune does report that enough new “Decorating Cents” shows have been filmed to run through the first quarter of 2008 - hopefully HGTV will still air them for fans of the show. The Star Tribune also reports that the possible cancellation of “Decorating Cents” doesn’t include losing Joan Steffend - she will continue to host HGTV specials including the popular Home and Garden Television Dream Home Give-away.

I hope that HGTV doesn’t cancel “Decorating Cents” it will be sorely missed unlike some other decorating shows that currently air on the Home & Garden network. Some of these new shows are absolutely dreadful and should be canceled; that includes never, ever bringing them back even in the form of re-runs.

Editor Note: Re-posted (originally posted on Jan 18, 2007) due to popular demand. We’ve received over 150 emails regarding Decorating Cents being canceled - and the overwhelming sentiment is “Don’t Cancel!”. Decorating Cent’s fans have asked us to bump this post so that others are made aware of this issue.

  1. I’d miss Decorating Cents. The designs are not so far out as some shows. I really enjoy the show.

    sez

  2. I record Decorating Cents every day! I love watching the make overs & especially the Trash to Treasure portion of the show with Rob W.. I hope that you really think long & hard before you make any decisions because I really think HGTV will lose a large audience if this show is cancelled.

  3. Don’t take Decorating Cents off the Air, it’s the best.
Affordable and do able. Darlsene Haskell

  4. If Joan Steffend is good enough for the White House she certainly is good enough for our homes. We would all be lost without “Decorating Cents”. It is the ONLY decorating show left to give not only middle class people, but disabled people with such small incomes, ways and means and ideas to decorate our homes with such inexpensive, lavish and top edge decorating ideas without a great deal of expense. The ideas given here are not out of reach and most classy to all that fall within this category. We must not forget every one has decorating needs, even us that cannot afford the best. Please re-consider the cancellation of such an awesome show.

    Thank you

    Jane Hopkins

  5. I hope HGTV will reconsider the cancellation of DECORATING CENTS. It has been the favorite decorating show of my daughters, granddaughters and I since we first discovered HGTV. It presents decorating tips that we can actually afford to implement. The Interior Redesign portion of the show is great too. We enjoy watching even if the episode is a repeat. Please, keep new shows coming!
    Thanks,
    Barbara Nickle

  6. I’d hate to see you cancel Decorating Cents, it’s a show that helps us that are on a limited budget, and you have way too many landscape shows,I’d love to see more home decorating shows that are more affordable.

  7. I hope you don’t cancel Decorating Cents. It’s a show that I make sure and not miss. I love to watch the re-runs as well. I just love the ideas because they are so creative and a regular person can accomplish them. I really enjoy Trash to Treasure and wish that segment was even longer. I’d hate to see Joan go. I love the show!!!

  8. Taking Decorating cents off, would feel like a slap in the face!!! Many of us who are in the middle class incomes look forward to D.C. Some of the other shows are to high dollar designing and to complicated to do on our own!! I for one do not want to hire someone to do my decorating, for I have my own taste. If you hire someone it’s like getting a hair cut from a hair design artist; you’re not sure what the out come will be. With D.C. you know what you’re getting. Exactly what you want!!!

  9. I love DECORATING CENTS. It is my favorite decorating show and I love Joan Steffan. I love Trash to Treasure and I also wish it were a longer segment. I also watch reruns and visit Decorating Cents Website. It is a awesome program!!!!!Please keep DECORATING CENTS ON AND MORE OFTEN!

  10. oh my goodness. one of the only sensible shows about decorating. those “challenge” shows (landscape and decorator both) are so far out of most budgets. hard for the average viewer to even take an interest in. those are geared to the viewer with DEEP pockets.

“decorating cents” is delightful. affordable and tons of great ideas. taking it away would be a travesty. joan and candace olson have the best personalities on HGTV. candace does high end stuff but in such a manner that she is fun to watch.

don’t you dare take our joan away from us!!!!!! we love her. i don’t want to just see her on the house give away as i have no interest in that lottery. i want her on a daily basis. she lights up my day and inspires me to do things.

  11. Decoration Cents is and has always been my favorite show on HGTV. I’m sure I’ve seen every segment. Please do not cancel this awesome show. Joan is such a very pleasant person to watch and listen to. The designers are people I would want to decorate my home. I can’t
say that about designers on some of the other shows on television. Trash to treasure help keep my creative juices flowing. I’m always bringing something home I’ve found. Please, please, please keep this fine show on the air.

  12. i hope the the plee of many people will sway you to not cancell decorating cents. for people like myself that are disabled and on a budget this show is perfect.many people don’t have the means to even try and replacate what some of the other shows do. decorating cents give many people great cheap beautiful ideas that are realistic and for under $500.00 that is feasable for many people.i have watched this show for years and used alot of joans great room ideas. i do watch divine design but that is a show that is like looking thru a wish and dream show.beautiful but not even close to what could be afforded.she and the show totally inspire me.infact when we put our house up for sale it sold fast and the compliments of the way i decorated was outragess.owe it all to joan and the many years of watching and implementing her many ideas into my decorating.

  13. Please do not cancel Decorating Cents. It is my favorite HGTV show. The designers are so creative and the finished rooms are a treat. In this day of recycling, shows such as this should be leading the way instead of being canceled….

  14. This is one of the few decorating they should keep. Most of the new shows are stupid and not for the average home owner. Please keep this show and joan on the air for a long time.

  15. I will hate to see decorating cents show cansel I love all the low cost Ideas that Joan shows in every episode, I will love to have a Christmas make over for under 500 dollars.

  16. Does anyone know how we can contact the actual network powers-that-be to voice our opinions over this heinous rumor? These blogs are great, but are the guys upstairs getting the message? ‘Decorating Cents’ is the ONLY home show that my husband will actually watch! I really enjoy Joan’s personality and I love her guest decorators; it amazes me how many inexpensive and brilliant ideas the teams can come up with. Many others on this blog have said it: this is one show that those of us on smaller budgets can emulate. Redo a room for under $500? No other show on TV can do that! Now how can we let the producors know directly how we feel?

  17. I love Decorating Cents. It is my favorite HGTV program. If it goes off, I probably won’t bother with any of the other programs on that channel.
    Lynne

  18. I would watch an episode of “Decorating Cents” before watching most of the new shows on. In fact, I’m watching the reruns and learning new things. Joan Steffend is a true professional. Don’t you dare cancel that show!!!!

  19. I love Decorating Cents…. everyone in the country can not afford the higher decorating cost shows! I like to watch them but when it comes down to decorating my own home I love to use Decorating Cents idea’s! I also was wondering how you go about getting on Joan Steffend’s show, Decorating cents! I have a room that just needs HELP! Joan also makes that show..she is my favorite decorating show personality! There are so many other decorating shows that can be canned! Please keep Decorating Cents on and not just re-runs! I too, am in agreement with these other bloggers…If there is no Decorating Cents , then I will not watch any other decorating show either! I am sure if all of us Decorating Cents addicts boycott the other decorating shows, their ratings will go down also! I am willing to start that crusade, if need be!
    Please, keep Decorating Cents ON!!!!!
    Sharon Rezendes from Massachusetts!

  20. Decorating Cents and Joan Steffend are the best! I watch it daily and will miss it terribly.
Spending $500 on a room is much more realistic for most people than $1000-2000!
    Keep Joan!!!!!!!!

  21. Oh my! That’s why they no longer show it on Tuesdays! I absolutely dread the program that they replaced Decorating Cents with!

Bring back Decorating Cents! It’s the sole reason I even tune in at HGTV!!

  22. I was VERY disappointed when Nothing but House Hunters was on HGTV this afternoon instead of Joan on her show Decorating Cents. I have learned lots from her show. PLEASE put her show back on. Thanks

  23. Decorating Cents was one of the first shows I saw on HGTV & it always has such great ideas for people on a real budget. I can’t afford to “Spice up my Kitchen” or redo a “Bad Bath” with the budgets those couples have but I can spring some of the great projects Joan does - please keep this show!

  24. Decorating Cents was one of the first shows I watched when I first found HGTV and has remained my favorite. I have watched every episode at least 3 times (thanks TiVo) and still enjoy watching Joan Steffend and crew. I was very disappointed to read that the show was being cancelled - it’s one of the best on HGTV and is great for those of us on a budget!
    Please don’t cancel it!

  25. HGTV is going down hill in my opinion! It has taken a giant turn around in the past few years and I’m getting to the point of not watching it at all! Not everyone is buying or selling a house. There are those of us that are content with where we live and want to update it without spending a fortune. Not to mention, the simple, realistic decorating that is done on Decorating Cents! Not only is Joan Steffend a joy to watch because of her great personality but the shows ideas are terrific!!!!! I hope that HGTV thinks again before shutting this show down. We love you Joan!!!!!!

  26. I love this show and have been watching it since it first came out. I still record it on TiVo and watch it all the time.

Decorating Cents, House Hunters, and Designed to Sell are the few shows left that I watch on HGTV. The HGTV redecorating/remodeling shows that have budgets in the thousands of dollars are unrealistic to middle-class people like me. (”Poor us. We’re redoing our kitchen and only have $40,000 to work with. We need your help!”) I’m tired of people complaining that their kitchen is too small when it’s already twice the size of mine.

I sure hope that HGTV doesn’t cancel Decorating Cents. I still haven’t gotten over the shock of Room by Room being only in reruns.

  27. Why in the name of Hannah would anyone choose to spend thousands of dollars on a makeover, when they can spen $500.00 or less and get a beautiful end result? I don’t think anyone on HGTV can explain that.. Wake up guys…..Instead of cancellation, you should be making more time slots for it. Make Decorating Cents a staple on daytime and nighttime TV just as you have with other “over priced” decorating shows. So, lets’ see…..spending $5,000.00 or $500.00…hmmmmm what should I do? Hands down……$500.00 and “Decorating Cents” with Joan Steffand, The show that gives you GREAT ideas for a lot less…..

  28. I have wondered why Decorating Cents has been on. I am so disappointed to hear that it is (or may soon be) cancelled. It is my favorite show. I don’t bother watching the high priced makeover shows. I can’t imagine spending the kind of dollars they talk about. Their ideas definitely are not transferable to the average homeowner. There are lots more of us than there are of them. I hope the decision makers reconsider this.

  29. It almost looks like a bias against people with
small budgets. What show(s) does HGTV plan
to replace Decorating Cents with?(none that I
have noticed) The shows ratings couldn’t have
dropped that much not with all the fans’ blogs
that I’ve seen. Come on cut us that don’t have
that extra 10,000 to 25′000 lying around to
decorate with a break. Aren’t there enough
shows that cater to those that have those
kinds of funds on the air. Please leave us
this one last hope for brightening our spaces.

  30. I cannot STAND this show!!! Good riddance! The decorating ideas are so cheap looking and outdated!!

  31. This show should be a staple on this network for low cost design. Not everybody is buying a house nor cares what a million dollars will buy. HGTV was built on the backs of Decorating Cents and Room By Room. Soon neither one will be on the air!! MEMO TO THE BOYS UPSTAIRS…you better look at this guys and keep your bread and butter shows on.

  32. Decorating Cents is my favorite show. I love the free section about changing the furniture around. This is basically what I can afford to do in my own home. PLEASE do not cancel Jo and her show.

  33. Are you KIDDING? The only time I watch HGTV anymore is when Joan Steffend is on. The idea of the show is to “reap ideas” and inspiration from which to decorate on your own and not be intimidated because your budget is small. Apparently “Dina” isn’t inspired unless copious amounts of cash is invested in a decorating project. I feel sorry for someone with a dead imagination like that!! Joan—you’re terrific!! (Note to programming personnel on HGTV: programs like “House Hunters” and “Spice up my Bath” (also “House Hunters International”) cause severe nausea!!)

  34. I hate this show! If they came to my house and wanted to decorate a room I would SLAM the DOOR! Their ideas are just awful! I showed an episode to my husband the other day and he just cringed and laughed! Oh MY gosh!!! I hope they keep the owners’ original pieces handy because they’re going to want to put them back in place as soon as the crew hits the road! On the up side… do think Joan is a nice host. Sad show though.

  35. This Show is wonderful. I have been watching this since the beginning. Sad Share before mine, must be people with too much money. I love Joan and her trash to treasure crew. Please leave this on they are all great.

  36. PLEASE!!!!!!PLEASE!!!!!PLEASE!!!DONOT CANCEL DECORATING CENTS I TAPE EVERY EPISODE, WHEN I GO ANYWHERE I SET MY VCR TO TAPE DEC.CENTS I ABSOLUTELY LOVE YOUR SHOW. ONE DAY I AM COMING TO ROBB WHITTLEFF”S SHOPON VACATION, MABE THIS YEAR. I EDIT EVERY PROGRAM WHEN I WATCH THE SHOWS FOR THE DAY I RETAPE WHAT I WANT TO KEEP. SOME ARE RERUNS AND I ALREADY HAVE THEM. THE REASON THE SHOWS RATINGS HAVE GONE DOWN IS BECAUSE THERE ARE SO MANY RERUNS, PLEASE DO SOME NEW SHOWS. I HAVE MADE MANY MANY THINGS THAT YOU HAVE SHOWN ON TRASH TO TREASURE. MADE MANY GIFTS FOR MY FAMILY, AS WELL AS MYSELF. DECORATING CENTS IS THE BEST PROGRAM ON HGTV. AGAIN PLEASE!!!!!PLEASE!!!!PLEASE!!!!! DON’T CANCEL IT. JUST THIS WEEK I MADE 4 DIFFERENT LAMPS I SAW ON DEC.CENTS. COVERED OLD SUITCASES. MADE SLIPCOVER FOR CHAIR. JUST TO NAME A FEW OF THE THINGS I HAVE MADE FROM YOUR SHOW. I DON’T HAVE ROOM TO LIST THEM ALL I GUESS. THANKS FOR LISTENING. BARBARA IN NORTH CAROLINA.

  37. I relly have enjoyed all of the shows for years and would be very disappointed if it was taken off of the air. If kept on the air if they could do my daughters livingroom rearrainged at the “NO COST DECORATING” segiment? Thank you very much and hope to hear from you.

    Marsha from Florida

  38. I love Decorating Cents - especially the “No Cost Decorating”. I can’t really relate to most of the other shows on the channel because I can’t (and wouldn’t even if I could!) spend thousands upon thousands in a bath or kitchen remodel. I mean really, with the economy and housing market the way they are right now, I don’t think too many of us can. Come on HGTV, bring back the affordable home decorating shows!!

  39. I have missed having new episodes of Decorating Cents. Very disappointed if it is cancelled. I tape the reruns that are only on in the afternoon-no primetime shows anymore. I also would like to know how to contact HGTV directly? There is no info on the website.

  40. It is nice to have a decorating show with ideas that fit most budgets. Many of us cannot do the redecorating that costs thousands of dollars. Even $1,000 can be really extravagant for many people. We would miss trash to treasure terribly. Please keep “Decorating Cents” on the air.

  41. Decorating cents is my all time favorite decorating show as it is
designed for people on a limited budget. I have gotten many great ideas from this show and I love Joan Steffend and some of her designers like
Peggy Sellwood. Trash to treasure is another great feature this show and it gives many great hints on making other junk or trash items into
really unique things.nice enough to give as gifts. In these hard economics times this show is really relevant. It gives inexpensive fixes to people whom otherwise could not afford to to something like this. Please keep this show on. It is one of the better shows on hgtv and I a devout fan.

  42. In the past year or so, I have become very disappointed in the shows on HGTV. (What has happened over the years?) The only really bright spots for me were Decorating Cents, Design on a Dime, and Design Remix. (Do you get my drift–the low budget design shows). Design Remix has been gone for awhile. Now, Decorating Cents is gone. You’ve left me w/ little reason to continue watching HGTV. I previously taught interiors courses at the university level. Perhaps I need to host a low budget design show of my own!

  43. I look forward to waking up to see decorating cents! Where else are you going to find a way get decorating ideals and redesign for 500.00! Lets face it we all live on a budget..and so much talent…I want to be on that show!!! please do not cancel it..all the other shows can’t do what decorating cents does and that is decorate on a budget that low!!!

  44. I look forward to waking up to see decorating cents! Where else are you going to find a way get decorating ideals and redesign for 500.00! Lets face it we all live on a budget..and so much talent…I want to be on that show!!! please do not cancel it..all the other shows can’t do what decorating cents does and that is decorate on a budget that low!!

Denise ~ From the show me state “Lonedell Missouri”

  45. Please do not remove joan steffon Decorating Cents. Remove Devine Designe. I love decorating cents and in these days with the economy as it is it is more affordable to decorate Joan’s way. Also love the guy with ideas trash to treasure.

  46. Please don’t cancel Decorating Cents.Joan and her Designers have so much talent! They are the true meanig of “Going Green” and you save “Green”!! I would love to have to have some ideas on how to redo my livingroom. My fireplace in a odd place.Joan keep up the GREAT WORK and keep that SMILE!!

  47. Decorating Cents was one of the first HGTV shows I started watching also, and it is still my favorite. I was so disappointed to hear about its possible cancellation. As others have stated previously, this show is one of the few left that shows people on a very limited budget creative ways to decorate their homes. I absolutely hate “Spice up my Kitchen,” “Design Star,” and “Hidden Potential.” Most regular people don’t have $50,000 to spend on a total kitchen remodel, so what is the point of watching? I find “Design Star” too stressful to enjoy–why do we need a new ‘design star’ every year? Aren’t there enough shows now? The only one left that I really enjoy is “Design on a Dime”–will the network be cancelling that as well? I sincerely hope not! Whose interests does the network HGTV have in mind? It doesn’t seem to be those of the typical American family. Seems to me they are aiming for only the wealthiest families, and trying to sell products. Is all of America only interested in the almighty dollar? Let’s bring back old-school values. Let’s bring back “Decorating Cents!”

  48. I totally agree with all the blogs. Decorating Cents is absoutely the best show oh HGTV, and Joan Steffend is the best host. Please dont cancel it. I agree that some of the new shows are too over the top for most people. Not everyone has a $30,000 budget, or even close to that. The ideas on Decorating Cents are within the price range and ability range of average people who dont have access to a professional decorator. Please HGTV, dont cancel it. Diane, Lawrenceville, Ga.

  49. I agree with all that ( a l steely Aug 5th, 2008 ) had to say I love watching Decorating Cents. I miss seeing it at night. It is a great show that caters to the real people not to all who have money and could spend up in the thousands of dollars. I think all of your shows should be for the real people. Those are the ones who would most likely be watching HGTV. I absolutely hate “Spice up my Kitchen,” “Design Star,” and “Hidden Potential.” Most regular people don’t have the kind of money to spend on a total kitchen remodel, so what is the point of watching? Which I do not. Joan Steffend comes across as being a very sweet and sincere person.

  50. Although I am secretly certain that the decision has already been made I need to add my plea to the others for keeping Decorating Cents on HGTV. There are multiple episodes of House Hunters every day. I personally am tired of seeing people that have 400,000 to spend having a hard time finding a home!! Joan has a personality that comes through like no other host of this type of show. The ideas are completely usable by the average person and show you the lift you can get from simple changes. Design Star is a show worth cancelling, NOT Decorating Cents. Please see the light!!

  51. Decorating Cents was a great show! I can’t believe they have taken this show off the air! When they changed the format of the show a few years ago, I thought it really started to suck. I loved the segments from the earlier show of “Taking A Tour of A House Decorated On a Budget,” when they’d tour an individual’s home. The interior re-designs were nice once in a while. I just wish they’d stop trying to be hip and just focus on a few shows that are good. This was a top quality, all around awesome show. Joan Steffend & Robb Whitleff are great hosts. Sasha Andreev not so much.

  52. Please do not cancel Deocrating Cents. It is the only show on that shows innovative ideas for low cost that viewers can actually do themselves. Consider cancelling one or two of the how to sell homes or buying a home shows. Please reconsider!!

  53. I really am disappointed that they are considering cancelling Decorating Cents. I love that show and have used many of the ideas in decorating our own home. Please reconsider because it would be a huge mistake. They are other shows on now that are just awful please consider one of those instead like House Hunters who cares about that stuff. Please reconsider !!!!

  54. I for one have not been happy with the new shows. I find myself watching less and less. The only show that has worth is Decorating Cents. It shows us that we can have great style on a budget. In case you haven’t notice…. $$$$$ are tight now.

Please keep Decorating Cents…. It has a great host with great designers…..

    Rhonda

  55. Please bring Decorating Cents back. It’s the best show I’ve seen on HG TV.

  56. I love the show. Here’s an article I wrote on eHow about How to Hold a No-Cost-Makeover Party for a Room in Your House. I based it on the Decorating Cents episodes. http://www.ehow.com/how_4502511_have-nocostmakeover-party-room-house.html

  57. to Hgtv Please reconcider, your audience are people who budget does not allow expensive makeovers. Your network has become an upscale network, that leaves the majority of us in the cold. Please return Decorating Cents and concider adding, not taking away more shows like it. We are your backbone of your network. Just test the market.Ask us what we would like to see on HGTV.
    Deborah

  58. Please save Decorating Cents I love that show!!!

  59. Oh, please return Decorating Cents to HGTV. It was a great decorating show for people on a “Walmart” budget. And Joan - I just wanted to have her over for coffee. Would you please reconsider?! Thank you.

  60. Decorating Cents was for real people, which I would assume was your major audience. I say was, as I watch HGTV much less now. Your programs show decorating and design for those who can throw their money at their projects. Most of us can’t do that, and you are losing a large number of loyal viewers with your new programing. I hope you reconsider, I used to like watching HGTV.
    Thank you.

  61. Autumn is now here….the PERFECT time to curl up on the couch and watch Joanie. I cannot seem to find her ANYWHERE on HGTV anymore.

Decorating Cents was my absolute FAVORITE show…

What has happened to it. I, for one, will sign any petition to get it back. I had a few of my favorites that were on the show with her…Richard, Nadia, Peggy and certainly the Trash to Treasure segments..the rapor with Rob was fantastic but each guy had different ideas.

PLEASE anyone out there…what can we do to get it back ?? Thanks..

PS..I agree with you…the new shows are simply….JUNK !!! Kim Myles was good “before” she got her show..her personality has gone strictly DIVA. I cannot stand to turn it on because of her newfound EGO. David Bromstad of Color Splash is WONDERFUL !!!

  62. AN ADDED NOTE…

If it even matters, in the BREAKING NEWS financial crisis we are all in TOGETHER…

PLEASE let’s bring back DECORATING CENTS…AND Joan Steffand. She was the GREATEST…we connected with her.

People cannot afford to eat, buy their medicine, etc. A show that spends $500.00 to redecorating a room….we ALL can relate to.

Sure it is nice to watch the folks that have hundreds of thousands of dollars to have someone come in and redo a room in their home. Some people on those shows spend more to have one room done than some “middle class” folks spend on their ENTIRE HOUSE !!!

PLEASE BRING DECORATING CENTS BACK !!!!!

Please hear us….the normal MIDDLE CLASS people who so loved the show. Thank you..very very much.

  63. IF ANYONE HAS AN E-MAIL ADDRESS FOR HGTV, PLEASE POST IT IN THIS FORUM. NO ONE KNOWS WHAT TO DO OR HOW TO CONTACT THE STATION TO TRY AND SAVE THIS SHOW.

I AGREE THAT THERE HAD BEEN TOO MANY RERUNS OF DECORATING CENTS. JOAN BROKE HER FOOTAND WAS HAVING TO SIT SOME OF HER PAINTING DUTIES OUT ON THE FLOOR— SO POSSIBLY THAT PUT A DAMPER ON THINGS, BUT STILL–WOUNDS MEND.

FOR “ANYTHING TO SURVIVE” IN THIS DAY AND AGE OF OUR ECONOMICAL CRISIS ———YOU MUST BE ABLE TO RELATE OR CONNECT WITH THE PEOPLE THAT MATTER. THOSE PEOPLE WHO MATTER ARE THE VIEWERS, THE MIDDLE CLASS, THE PEOPLE WHO CAN RELATE TO THIS SHOW.

IT WAS VERY POPULAR. PLEASE BRING IT BACK.

WHAT A GREAT SHOW IT WOULD BE TO HAVE THE STARS OF OTHER SHOWS BE “GUESTS” ON OTHER POPULAR SHOWS.

TO SEE CHARLES OR SUMMER, FROM DESIGN ON A DIME, VISIT DECORATING CENTS WITH JOAN AND ROB—–WOW. THE CREATIVITY WOULD BE AWESOME.

  64. I have wondered why there were no new episodes of Decorating Sense. It has been a favorite of mine since it first appeared. I really miss it. Creative design ideas on a budget has a great appeal and never more so than now. Please reinstate Joan Steffand and Decorating Sense…..a great show that is greatly missed.

  65. PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL THIS SHOW. IN FACT, I THINK YOU SHOULD LENGTHEN DECORATING CENTS AIR TIME. IT IS ONE OF THE FEW SHOWS ON HGTV WORTH WATCHING. YOU HAVE TOO MANY “OVER-DECORATING” SHOWS THAT SHOULD BE CANCELED. HAVE YOU EVEN CONSIDERED THE IDEA THAT DECORATING CENTS RATING MAY BE DOWN DUE TO THE TIME SLOT IN WHICH YOU HAVE PLACED IT?
THE REASON THAT I SUBSCRIBE TO HGTV IS BECAUSE OF SHOWS LIKE “DECORATING CENTS”, “ROOM BY ROOM”, “CAROL DUVALL” AND “DESIGN ON A DIME”. IF ALL OF THESE SHOWS ARE DISCONTINUED, THERE IS NOT MUCH REASON TO EVEN WATCH HGTV ANYMORE.

  66. I have been searching for new episodes for Decorating Cents and found out it maybe canceled. I have watched every episode and all of them more than once. It was one of my favorites. I LOVE the Christmas shows. Please bring it back.
