Decorating Style Discovery Journal - Signature Decorating Style Series

Your Decorating Style Discovery Journal will become the home of the many style elements you will be collecting through the interactive exercises in the “Signature Decorating Style Series”. It will also be the place where you will jot down ideas, inspirations and thoughts regarding your style discovery. As you progress through the exercises you will see how the entries and materials collected in your journal will help you clearly define your signature decorating style in its entirety.

Creating Your Decorating Style Discovery Journal

Creating the Decorating Style Discovery Journal is quite simple and should take no more than an hour to put together. You will need:

• a one-inch to three-inch plastic binder
• seven folders with pockets (plastic or paper is fine)
• hole punch – if folders aren’t pre-drilled for binder use
• seven folder tabs
• loose-leaf paper to contain your notes, floor plans and sketches

Label the seven tabs: Color, Fabric, Window Treatments, Wall Treatments, Flooring, Furniture, and Décor & Accessories. Then attach the labels to the individual folders and add the folders to the binder. If the folders are not pre-drilled then use the hole-punch to create the holes. At the front of your journal insert 15 to 20 sheets of the loose-leaf paper. You may want to add a sheet or label on your journal to identify it as yours with a contact number should you accidentally leave it somewhere.

I will add a step by step illustration soon. My laptop is having memory issues making any digital photo work near impossible. On the bright side this technical issue was easily resolved with the purchase of 2GIGBYTES of memory which (fingers crossed) should be arriving in the next few days. So expect to see an update with illustrations in a few days.
