If allergies aren’t a concern then all flooring materials from hardwoods to carpet are wonderful options. If your decorating budget is a bit tight than you might want to consider less expensive flooring materials such as carpet, vinyl, laminates and inexpensive ceramic tiles.

There are flooring outlets that also have great pricing on hard wood, bamboo, natural stone and higher-end ceramic tiles. Buying your flooring material from a flooring discounter / outlet will help stretch your decorating dollars. If you are able to do the installation you will save even more. About two-thirds of the cost of flooring is installation and labor – so if you can do it you may be able to buy a more expensive flooring material with the savings from doing the installation yourself.
