Home Decoration: Inspired by Travel, Books, and Art

What Inspires Me: “Inspiration for interiors can come from a variety of sources but travel, books and art are are always high on my list. Photographer Candida Hofer captures all in her amazing work. Her visual studies are not only stunning but reminders of spaces accessible to us all as places of beauty and learning. I love how designer Timothy Whealon incorporates her work (in this case – the Museum of Archeology in Venice) in this Carnegie Hill (NYC) townhouse.”Stacey Bewkes

After 17 years as an art director in New York City, Stacey Bewkes left the corporate world to raise her four children in Connecticut. Her continuing love of design in all categories led to the creation of Quintessence, an online guide to those special discoveries that make life just that much better.  From art and architecture, interiors and design, fashion and jewelry to books and movies, food and wine, travel and more, Quintessence has become a trusted source for well-researched original content in the online world.

Stacey is the co-style editor for the non-profit Women’s Voices for Change, a contributor to luxury publications group Cottages & Gardens website, an inaugural member of the BlogTour team at the London Design Festival and a sponsored blogger at High Point Market, Las Vegas World Market and several seasonal market days at the D&D building in New York.
