From appliances to surfaces, dark blue is adding sleek sophistication to kitchens and laundry rooms. Not as stark as black and lacking the often associated sterile look of white, dark blues seem to be the new neutral to which homeowners are turning to, to give a fresh updated look to their kitchens and laundry rooms.

   Find the contemporary furniture stores in your area and look at their rooms. Buy home decor magazines to get ideas and find out where to buy what you see. Furniture needs to be seen and touched if you don’t know the manufacturer so you will have to do some shopping to find out what you like and is good quality. There is a lot of junk out there so you have to be careful. After you get your major pieces, then you can decide how to accessorize and what colors you will want to coordinate them.
