Maxwell House of Design – Portfolio
DESIGNER NOTES: This is a home in the Palisades. The homeowner wanted to re-cover a formal sofa to create a whimsical, fun, and friendly family room. We did that with pink upholstery trimmed in brushed fringe for a fun twist on a traditional style. We added other fun fabrics and accessories to achieve the look the homeowner wanted. |
DESIGNER NOTES: The female homeowner wanted her home to feel as though it were on the beach, the male homeowner wanted the room to reflect his world travels. Travel mementos, woven window treatments and blue and white upholstery from Pearson Company accomplished the goal of both homeowners. |
|
DESIGNER NOTES: This is my daughter’s room. She wanted a grown up style with her favorite colors, black and purple. Wooden cut-outs, backed with rope lighting, mimic the fabric pattern in the canopy and bed skirt. The cool factor is off the charts at night, when just the cut-outs are glowing. |
DESIGNER NOTES: This over-the-top dining room is an answer to the client’s request for dramatic and beach-like. Client requested deep blue walls works with the Thibaut fabric, and the custom fabric designed by Jane Ann Maxwell is featured on the chairs, since we couldn’t find exactly what we wanted. This is a completely personalized room for a very happy client. |
|
TDESIGNER NOTES: This is the client that wanted her home to look like it sat beach-side. She wanted it to be elegant, but friendly, tranquil but interesting. Beautiful Pearson Company furniture, and unique display cabinets, that act as room dividers and display travel collections, bring in elegance and interest. |
A cotton striped rug, casual ottoman and the homeowners own artwork over the mantle create the friendly and relaxed atmosphere the client wanted. |
Jane Ann Maxwell of Maxwell House of Design
Jane Ann Maxwell is the owner of Maxwell House of Design located in the charming southern town of Fort Mill, SC, just south of the Charlotte, NC metro area. Jane loves designing comfortable, luxurious interiors that reflect the owners personality and taste. She is a native of the Carolinas and is the quintessential "Southern Belle" who enjoys adding style and taste in everything she does.
She has 20 years of experience in the design world and has worked on interior projects ranging from executive mansions to cozy mountain getaways and beach houses. She is the President of the Charlotte Chapter of the Association of Interior Design Professionals (AIDP) and a member of the Window Coverings Association of America (WCAA). Ms Maxwell is involved in numerous community activities and was recently asked to spearhead the redesign of the recreation room of the Fort Mill, SC National Guard Armory. Jane Ann blogs regularly at Yours by Design and shares her unique and fresh insight into popular trends, that affect interiors and styles – from cinema to trade shows.
Jane Ann’s motto is "The design of an interior must reflect the owner not the designer!" The greatest compliment she can get is when visitors to a home say "This house looks just like you!" and not "this must be a Maxwell House of Design room."
