Obsessed with Beautiful Furniture Design: BoConcept’s “The Guest”

In yet another successful and entertaining short film “The Guest” starring iconic Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen, BoConcept has shown the nearly obsessive allure of beautiful contemporary furniture. Watching the film I was reminded of how I and my design friends act when in the presence of gorgeous furniture and decor. Really, nothing else exists to us when we find beautiful design in our sights. Okay, so this isn’t exactly true in all cases. We had to focus a bit more during I Saloni in Milan – it was a bit of a challenge with all the other handsome forms that surrounded us in the city and at the show. But, in the end, divine design beat out extremely attractive and very well-dressed Italian gentlemen (It was a real close competition – in case you were wondering ūüôā !).

“The Guest” ¬†a witty portrayal of a man who truly is in love with wonderful design is the second short film created by BoConcept. ¬†In this film, BoConcept once again collaborates with Dejan Cukic – who directed the first short film, “The Call” also starring Mikkelsen. This time ¬†Cukic moves from behind the camera and takes on the role of the, albeit unwittingly, humorous sidekick to Mikkelsen’s more serious character.

About “The Guest” : Mikkelsen and Cukic play old friends who reunite in Spain. Mikkelsen‚Äôs character shows off his new home, which includes beautiful women in unexpected places and chic, functional BoConcept furniture pieces throughout. BoConcept Visual Manager Jette Christensen explains: ‚ÄúThis film is lighthearted and more casual, but we wanted to maintain a high level of elegance with an exquisite tone-on-tone selection of white and grey.‚ÄĚ

Filmed on location in Valencia, the film captures iconic Spanish designs along the way. Truly a delight for me, as I recently returned from attending a trade show in Valencia and while there enjoyed the stunning architectural endeavours of Spanish architect, Santiago Calatrava. So seeing Mikkelsen and Cukic drive across the Calatrava bridge had me oohing and aahing. And, once they¬†arrive at¬†the exquisite Valencian home of ¬†world-renowned BoConcept designer¬†Morten Georgsen where¬†the film was shot¬†– just wow! The architecture and interior design captivates and never lets go. You really need to watch the video (see below) to see all the fabulous Scandinavian ¬†design that also shares the stage with Mikkelsen. You’ll love the design, architecture and the funny short film that brings it all together, I promise! Oh, and just in case that after watching the video, you find yourself seriously craving some luxurious Scandinavian design at home…well, you’re in luck!! BoConcept will give one very, very lucky fan an interior design makeover worth over $5,000. For details on how you can enter for a chance to win visit the BoConcept site.
