Style Divas is back – My 97 year old grandfather fell and broke his hip – on the day of his birthday
So I decided to put a few things on hold (such as the Style Divas and blogging) and focus my attention on my family. It was a trying time – at 97 years-old any surgery is highly risky – but after much praying and just as many tears my family welcomed the news that my grandfather made it through the hip replacement surgery without complications. Now that my grandfather is healthy and progressing quite well I can get back to writing and continuing to shine the light on some of the most amazing design-related sites out there. I hope you enjoy this week’s selections.
What Is Style Divas – Best of the Web?
It’s about bringing attention to and highlighting the very best and most fabulous design and style blogs/websites that make their home in this large, boundary-less world called cyberspace.
The criteria is simple – We look for value to the reader, engaging content, originality and creativity. Each week we will select the most outstanding posts or articles from sites we find or that are submitted to us for review. You can submit your design and style nominations to styledivasbestoftheweb@thedecoratingdiva.com.

Anne Heap – Pink Cake Box : Haute Couture Cake Design. I stumbled across this blog while I was desperately searching for a solution to a WordPress blog problem that was making my life miserable. I didn’t find the solution but what I found was a true Style Diva – Anne Heap and the magnificent confections she creates. Her blog is a visual treat and let me tell you if I were to get married again , priority one would be booking her to create the wedding cake of my dreams. The lovely photo on the left illustrates one of Anne’s beautiful wedding cakes. (image source: pinkcakebox.com)
Now for a blog that for some reason helps me calm down – in a word it’s Zen-like- as soon as my neck starts to stiffen, as stress is overloading my day, instead of reaching for the chamomile and honey I click on the “Oh, Joy” bookmark and am transported into a world of beautiful patterns and designs. Joy Deangdeelert Cho ,the blog founder, also has her own line of charming and from the looks of it very soothing stationary and decor products -called “nantaka joy“. The image on the left is of the “nantaka joy” collection at the Softgoods trade show in NY. (image source: Oh!Joy)
