About Layla Grayce
At Layla Grayce, we truly, madly, deeply care about design, about creating the perfectly decorated room that expresses your unique sense of self, and finding perfect items for gifts or everyday. These are things that can make a difference in the quality of our lives and those dear to us. We feel that beautiful surroundings bring harmony, balance and happiness to your home and life, and strive to showcase products that will achieve this philosophy. Beautiful surroundings that express your personal take on lifestyle shouldn’t be a luxury – it should be a necessity.
Layla Grayce is an inspiring shopper’s delight conceived by Wendy Rossiter Estes and Tiffany Grayce Harris, lifelong friends with a passion for business and design and a love for discovering unique items. Traveling through Europe after college, they were inspired by the antiques, art and furnishings of the countries they visited. Years passed as they started families and worked on their individual careers, designing homes and interiors for clients, friends and family along the way. Encouraged to share their talents and finds with others, they created Layla Grayce.
Together they have selected a remarkable collection of items for home, women and children, carefully selecting every product, artisan and manufacturer to ensure their business philosophies and craftsmanship are worthy of your home and lifestyle. Never mainstream but always functional, Layla Grayce products are designed for longevity – everyday heirlooms that can be passed on to future generations. For everyone dedicated to creating an inspired haven that reflects a stylish, creative take on lifestyle, we bring you Layla Grayce.
About Wendy Rossiter Estes
Wendy brings the most "mom" experience to Layla Grayce. A mother to four children, including twin two-year old girls she understands the needs of busy working moms. With a family of young product testers on hand, she helps us to select the best items for babies and children. Balancing a career and a family life has always been essential to Wendy, and Layla Grayce has allowed her the freedom to be her own boss. Years spent in commercial real estate leasing and negotiation on behalf of well-known national retailers and developers honed her analytical and organizational skills. These were essential when assisting Tiffany with design projects later, and together they share a passion for textiles and compelling design. Her enthusiasm for discovering new artisans for Layla Grayce is infectious. Wendy brings business savvy, her marketing aptitude and the phenomenal juggling ability of a successful working mom to Layla Grayce.
About Tiffany Grayce Harris
Tiffany is our resident design buff with degrees and education as an interior designer, certified color consultant and a current ASID member (American Society of Interior Designers). She has worked at Sundance Resort designing and updating cottages, and has been the in-house designer for a large construction company, working on both commercial projects and distinguished private residences. Her success has earned her numerous awards and recognition for interior decorating. Tiffany reconnected with her high school sweetheart and is recently married. With her love and knowledge of all types of design and decor, Tiffany is often found assisting customers with decorating suggestions and purchases, as well as training the exceptional Layla Grayce staff in the essentials of great design.

Buying a sofa is a major purchase and it’s a piece of furniture that you will probably hold on to for a few years. So it makes sense to do your homework and buy a sofa that fits your eco-aware lifestyle.
But how do you know if the sofa truly is Green? Fortunately, over the last five years, Green Furniture manufacturers (like Cisco Brothers, Greener Lifestyles, Amy McKay, Viesso, Robert Craymer, Eco Sofa and Hickory Chair) have stepped up to fill the eco-chic furniture niche. And yes, each of these manufacturers create GORGEOUS, green, eco-fabulous furniture! Just take a look at the eco sofas we picked as our environmentally-friendly favorites (shown above). These sofas are as eco-friendly as they are gorgeous.
When shopping for an eco-friendly sofa here’s s are six items you need to look for:
1. SOFA FRAME
Look for furniture that has received the Forest Stewardship Council’s (FSC) certification. The FSC concentrates its efforts on setting standards to achieve sustainability in the harvesting of forest products. There are various woods that are harvested with sustainability in mind.
Consider non-wood alternatives such as Bamboo. This plentiful grass is an excellent environmentally friendly furniture material since it grows quickly, is easily replenished and does not require replanting. Bamboo is a strong material that has been used through Asia as scaffolding, has gained tremendous popularity as flooring material and is quickly gaining favor in the textile world as a fabric of choice for those seeking sustainable and organic upholstery alternatives.
2. CUSHIONS AND FILL
Natural Latex harvested from rubber trees is eco-friendly, bio-degradable, mildew and mold resistant, has anti-microbial qualities and is renewable. A wonderful alternative to the environmentally destructive polyurethane foam (petroleum based) that can cause chemical sensitivities and languishes in landfills.
Down & Feathers that are cleaned with non-toxic substances.
Wool is a favorite among the eco-savvy, and for good reason. Wool is a renewable material, naturally fire retardant and has wonderful anti-microbial qualities.
Organic Cotton that is treated with environmentally friendly pesticides, and given color with non-toxic dyes.
3. UPHOLSTERY
Hemp, organic cotton, silk, wool, bamboo and leather offer a multitude of eco-fabulous fabric options.
4. RECYCLED MATERIALS
Reusing discarded materials ranging from recycled steel coils to recycled cushion fibers made from plastic water bottles keeps them out of landfills and contributes to a cleaner planet.
5. ADHESIVES, STAINS AND PAINTS
Water based adhesives are usually 100% solvent-free and emit no Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) which are bad for the environment and bad for our respiratory health.
Look for non-VOC sealants, stains or paints that use polyx oils derived from plant oils and waxes or are water-based rather than petro-based products like oil-based polyurethanes.
6. RECYCLING PROGRAMS
Now that you have a new stylish, eco-friendly sofa on order, What to do with your current sofa? List it on on eBay, Craig’s List, donate it or participate in a vendor sponsored recycling program. Many Green furniture manufacturers, such as Viesso, have recycling programs in place to accept their brand of furniture when the time comes to replace the old with the new.

Catherine Avery believes that real people live in their homes, that homes are not meant to be designer show houses. In fact, she can make your home look like an interior designer was not there at all.
Homes should be family friendly, whether that’s taking into account Timmy’s train set, Sally’s love of ballet or Fido’s favorite chair. Having a child of her own, she recognizes that families should not have to worry about knocking over a precious vase or putting a glass on the coffee table. And if you do have a favorite collection, she will find a way to display it safely away from your toddlers and your golden retriever’s happy tail.
As a Wall Street marketing executive, Catherine Avery had a special gift for client relations. With a high-pressured job, she looked for ways to express her creativity. She would buy condominiums, decorate and resell. It soon became apparent to her friends and clients that she had talent. Her designs connected with just about every person who saw them. She decided to leave Wall Street and return to school.
After graduating from Fairfield University’s Professional Interior Design Program, Catherine worked as a junior designer for a well-known Fairfield County designer. Author of an award-winning design blog, she has been featured in local newspapers, as well as on several design websites.
She teaches continuing education classes and is actively involved in her church and Near and Far Aid. An Allied Member of ASID, Catherine holds an MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business and a BA from Smith College. She lives in Fairfield County Connecticut with her husband, daughter and their cat.

Fate intervened and a serendipitous opportunity arose, offering a chance to live and work in Europe. They moved to Paris for five years and then for four years in Amsterdam . They currently reside in Berlin.
Toma has antique-shopped in over 30 countries and lives a life without borders. She shares that life in both her European antique shopping & lifestyle blog – The Antiques Diva Blog and by inviting readers to join her on shopping excursions.
